Grasshopper with exuvia (Chorthippus sp. ?) Something that I had never thought about. Clearly at some point the grasshopper nymph had had an accident and lost a leg. The exuviae was pentapedal and so was the newly emerged adult.

Some spiders do regrow a missing leg. The new leg that appears when the spider molts may be smaller than the lost one. I don't know whether any insects replace legs.
