I was curious who used the Sigma 105mm 1.4 on a Canon EOS R. But more may be gleaned asking who has used it on any brand, especially with an adapter. One photographer Manny Ortiz on Youtube showed it vs. 85mm, 135mm and 200mm and I thought Bokeh of a couple looked as good and maybe better. But my first concern is the lens working correctly on Canon, and the EOS R is one of my bodies. 5DS is the other.

I ruled-out the 105mm due to weight, but recalled my 70-200mm is similar weight, although its hood will not fit my bag !! I have two 85mm, and thought maybe replace my Canon 85mm 1.2 ii with the Sigma ... ??? maybe ... If anybody owns one, do you take the hood, or leave it back at home or the office.

There are several obvious features that complicate wanting the 105mm. The hood is very large, and then it has a tightening knob protruding. Then, the end of the lens flares out rather wide. For me, the price is fine and one of the easiest parts to get by.

Seems like hardly anybody owns this lens. Hear great feedback, and this is one of maybe just 2 Sigma lenses I'm tempted to buy. But I think lots of photographers may be avoiding purchase for similar reason as myself ... the size.

But I've almost pulled the trigger on this thing twice while browsing online, then paused and removed it from the cart.
