I'm involved in a couple of Zooniverse projects so get the announcements. This one may be interesting to the birders who read here.

---------------

We have a brand new project on the Zooniverse that needs your help!

Partner with The Cornell Lab of Ornithology in their new Nest Quest Go! (external link) project to better understand the lives of nesting birds. Birds have met numerous challenges over the last century. What may be influencing nesting success? Which species seem to be adapting and which species seem to be struggling? How can conservation efforts best improve the lives of nesting birds? Answering these questions requires a massive dataset...

In walks, Nest Quest Go: Warblers, the first project of what will be many built on Zooniverse that is seeking to better understand the lives of birds. Nest Quest Go!'s goal is to bring to life +300,000 nest record-cards submitted by citizen-submitted from all over North America. These diligently handwritten cards, collected during the 1960s-2000s (some even earlier), contain a wealth of nesting information, but have been sitting in cabinets, until now. The paper format is a serious barrier to their widespread use today when conservation efforts are more important than ever. With the help of the amazing Zooniverse platform and faithful community of volunteers (You!) we hope to compile this large dataset into a robust source of information for researchers to utilize. Harry S. Truman may have said it the best, "There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know."...and the history we do not know, may be instrumental in helping to save the lives of millions of birds. Join us, quest some nests!

Get involved at www.zooniverse.org/projects/brbcornell/nest-quest-go-warblers (external link).

Thanks for your help!

.
I went to the link you provided and am reading all about it. . I was so pleasantly surprised when I read that this is all about Prothonotary Warblers! .They are the only Warbler species to nest in tree cavities. . Ever since I learned that about them a few years ago, they have been on my "bucket list", so to speak.

I'm gonna go back to the page at that link you provided and read more about this.

Thanks!

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
