I'm disappointed that we only had 3 entries (albeit good entries) in this week's competition. I thought that the topic was accessible to a wide audience and I worked to make it unique from prior competitions.

On to the judging:

Ltdave - (Untitled)
The instant I saw this I said "This is EXACTLY what I was going for!". Too bad the light fixture is clipped at the bottom. Other than that it's nicely composed and exposed.

Stiga (Martin) - Parterre gardens
Definitely some intricate landscaping here. Nice composition too.

dilorenzo1954 (Ed) - Compañía de Jesús Church
Some ornate religious sculptures in a gilded structure (I don't know what else to call it). The illumination draws the eye to the center shelf, then drifts to the lower shelf. The upper shelf isn't well illuminated like the other shelves. Good composition and unusual subject.

And the winner is:...………………………………….Ltdave! Honorable mention to Martin (Stiga).

Thank you all for participating and I look forward to Ltdave's theme.

Congrats to Ltdave - and thanks for 2nd place :-)

I too am surprised that this excellent topic did not attract more entries - pity

Thank you Roger for running the show.

thanks everyone.

got notification that i won, this morning but were on the road (currently about 2100 miles away) and now in canada with crummy wifi at the hotel and $$$$ cell phone service...

i had a lot of ornate church images and figured there would be one or three of those and my garden shots (outside a castle was not nearly as good as Martin's so i rolled the dice...

ill have the new challenge up momentarily...
