The swallowtail caterpillars in the garden disappeared about a week ago. I had hoped that the reason was pupation rather than predation (we have everything from spiders, martens, deer and up to sparrowhawks, buzzards and kites that pass through the garden). And look what was sitting on the doorstep this afternoon!
