I’m either missing an important step, or something is broke. (Or I was miss lead into thinking this would work?)

I’m trying to control a Godox tt350 unit wirelessly with the pop up flash of my OM em10II. No matter how I setup the remote won’t fire.
About to throw in the towel.

Never had a problem doing this with canon 60d, 80d, or 7dII. I realize they link differently, but following directions is “following directions “. :)

I might make clear(r), that I have gotten the unit to work using it in optical slave just fine.
It’s the RC slave mode to camera that refuses to communicate.

Any insight or ?

Thanks!
James

Just a follow up.

Talked to rep@B&H photo a short while ago. He said that for this unit to work wirelessly and with full auto functions, that it would need either a second tt350,or a gotox transmitter/master.

Also said the same for canon version. (And it wouldn’t fire a 430exii) sigh

Good unit for price, but a little put off by misleading wording hype in the ads.

Correct. Godox/Flashpoint units wont integrate into OEM wireless control systems, they essentially replace it with their own system. For full wireless control w/ or w/o TTL (not just optical slave) you’ll need another godox/flashpoint product, whether it’s a standalone transmitter or another speedlite unit, etc. I don’t think I ever tried to make it work like an OEM flash with the RC system, but I bought mine pretty much specifically for the wireless radio function.

The upside is that usually the transmitter and speedlite cost together is far less than an OEM alternative speedlite, and it also allows for radio wireless control instead of being only limited to optical - which I don’t think is even an option for the EM10 II since it’s incompatible with Oly’s radio system. Another advantage is that you can use the same lights across different camera systems with full control as long as you have a transmitter for the brand of camera body you’re using. The flashes/strobes themselves are agnostic when used wirelessly. It actually works pretty well and is scalable depending on how much or little light you need.

Where was your concise and complete description of the Godox system when I was researching!?. :)

Also thanks for the above information! Being able to use a common master across different systems will be sure to get smiles from the better half. Lol

I’m using it wireless with my on camera flash firing it. But after many years of manual flash, I’ve been spoiled by ETTL.

Many thanks again and sorry for my late comeback.
Best
