I have two XT3 bodies. Both running firmware 2.10.

Camera A - XT3 + 23 1.4
Camera B - XT3 + 56 1.2

This problem only affects camera B with the 56 1.2. Camera B is a few months newer than camera A.

I've encountered a reproducible front command dial problem where:

- Shutter speed dial is set to T
- Front command dial is set to control shutter speed
- ISO dial is set to any value
- Exposure comp dial is set to any value
- Drive mode is set to single
- Metering is set to multi
- AF mode is set to any mode, usually AF-S
- Lens aperture is (usually) set to f/1.2

When the problem occurs the front comamnd dial will only decrease shutter speed no matter which direction the dial is turned. So from 1/200 to 1/160, 1/125, 1/100, etc. It won't increase shutter speed to 1/250, 1/320, etc.

Turning the camera off/on restores normal operation.

It happens intermittently. Exposing the sensor to bright light when the lens is wide open seems to be a trigger but I'm not 100% sure about that. I usually keep the lens stopped down between f/4 and f/8 when walking around as a precaution. It can happen once or twice in a 2 hour shooting session. Sometimes it doesn't occur at all.

I suppose it could be mechanical but seems more like firmware to me.

Google's not helping. I haven't reported it to Fuji yet.

I'm hesitant to upgrade to firmware 3.00. Read reports of AF issues. Prefer to wait for a 3.x release. I seem to recall this problem also occuring in 1.02 on camera B.

Anyone else seen this or is it just me?

Hi,
I had a similar intermittent problem.
The front dial would not obey shutter speed commands.
I downloaded firmware 3.00 back in April. So far that problem bug has NOT reoccurred.

Also the X-T3 seems to prefer Sandisk Memory cards.
Happy trails.

Thanks guys. Good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I upgraded both cameras to 3.00. We'll see how it goes. I'm using Sandisk Extreme Pro cards. No issues so far.

Hey I know this is an old post but I hope you see it and reply because I have yhe same issue with my new xt3. Have you solved the problem? I contacted fuji and they say its probably a faulty diao that needs replacing but looks more like a firmware issue for me

In my case it was fixed in 3.00. Running 3.20 now. Seems to be ok as well. Haven't seen this problem since upgrading.

Which firmware is your XT3 running?

I am running 3.20 since I bought. At some point it was doing it pretty often. Then I did a total reset and reinstalled the firmware and was ok for about a month and today it did it again. Fujifilm services say its probably a faulty dial bit doesnt seem mechanical to me. Thanks for you reply!

I've been having the same issue with my X-T30, running the 1.20 (last firmware)

The front dial sometimes just goes down, but it's not only for the ISO (which I have it set for) but for any action at all, including scrolling image gallery.

When I turn the camera off and on again, it comes back to normal.

Same here. X-T30, using the dial for ISO. I don't have access to the camera at the moment, and so can't test some of the other ideas brought up here.
