That's a nice head turn, with the light falling on the head nicely. . And the dark water is a great backdrop! . I especially like that there are no distracting reflections in the water.

I am interested in the settings you used. . Would you be so kind as to explain the rationale behind the ISO and aperture that you chose to use?

Also, I am interested in knowing if you focused on the Loon's head, or on its body.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thank you Tom, I like to experiment with different settings as I shoot mostly with my 300F4. As for focusing from on the water in Kayak can be and is challenging. I like to shoot for a focused head/eye shot so it is my main point of capture. With lots of experimenting I am learning as I go.
