I got the Flashpoint Studio 400 /Godox SK II 400 couple years ago. It has been a reliable performer. One complaint I have for the SK II it's the 1/16 minimum power setting. When using it with my other Godox lights, ADs and QTII, I often have a hard time adjusting it to go lower than F2.8. So when Godox release the MS series with 1/32 min, I pick the 200 to see how low it will go.

Lets start with the obvious meter test first. Both using the same 36 inch octabox with double diffusion and white interior, light meter about 5 feet from the font of the soft box. SK II: F11/F2.8, MS200: F9/F1.8. The MS200 is not exactly two stop less power at minimum, maybe because my meter is using 1/3 stop, but much more practical improvement for me.

The Godox version does not come with the reflector, I think the Adorama brand comes with one. But Pergear on Amazon always throw in some free gifts, which bundle this light with the Ad-R6 7" reflector, and five color shower cap diffusers. The Flashpoint Studio 400 comes with a 6" reflector. The reflectors have different off set umbrella shaft cut out holes.

Some observation on both lights..

Neither light has auto dump feature.

They are both fan cooled, using the same 150W halogen modeling lamp which sticks out quite far (mm from touching the grid on the 7" reflector, could be problem with some beauty dish). Both still using the clicky/notch plastic light stand mount, though the MS200 now has the umbrella holder at the side, and the new crank handle is push button type.

They both operate pretty much the same ways. The Xpro can remotely control the the beep, modeling light on/off/prop, power in 1/3 or 0.1 stop. The only new features I notice on the MS200 are the power setting can be in 1/1 to 1/32, or 5.0 to 10.0. And the modeling light can be turned off during flash firing, then back on when fully recharge.

The LCD back panel on the MS200 is now white on black, a bit more modem look, where the SK II has a blue back light.

The halogen bulb gets very hot quickly at full power. I have been using 15W LED bulbs instead, though it's not dimmable.

The MS200 is very light, and it's $99 :)

OK some pictures, ask questions or tests you like to see..

I just got my 300 version in from adaroma.

The flash is nice, but I would pay more for a led modeling light and 1/64 or 1/128 power.
Nice complement / backup to the ad400 ad200 lights.

What kind of modeling light is that you have in it?

I got the LED light from Amazon, the same 4" height as the 150W Godox light.

Yeah, it's hard to beat range of controls with AD series with the Xpro remote. The only Godox AC strobes that go to 1/128 power are the QTII/Flashpoint Rapid (no LED modeling), but they are more than twice the size and weight of the MS model.

I am going to use the MS200 mostly behind the subject, like BG spot or kicker/hair light which does not require lots of power.
