The prices in the title are gray market, at sources posted from Canon Rumors. But with prices that low, it brought to mind whether the not yet released 61mp Sony or yet-to-be seen high megapixel RF Canon, are putting the brakes on sales of those models across the globe.

Could be some warehouses are trying to dump remaining overstock before the 5DS and 5DS R become medium resolution.

They are getting a bit old now... approaching 5 years. Even the 5D4 is 3 years old. Retailers are simply trying to dump their old inventory for what will sell. Good deals to be had right now.

The only Canon cameras that keep their price are the 1D cameras.

Even the 5D II, at one point, sold for $1750. Now, a measly $500 for once the best full frame camera in the market.

I was looking at maybe buying a 6D mk ii recently just for an extra, and I thought the retail price was still pretty high considering how long it's been out. Know what you mean about the 5D mk ii. Some sellers are twiddling their thumbs waiting for buyers at $500.
