Specs aren't bad. But canon has lagged with DR and low light capabilities for far too long so that will be the deciding factor for me on whether to stay with canon.

Apparently the 90D does not come with a USB transfer cable. It may be a small thing to be disappointed about, but the idea of having to purchase a separate one is a little off putting, and the idea of a mass wireless transfer is not appealing.

Curious, but how far is Canon lagging in DR and low light?

Some of us with kids and various devices have so many of these laying around, it is almost like tribbles. :)

I buy these like snacks from Amazon, kids keep losing them, breaking them....

Tribbles, lol, love it! Thanks for the link. I’ve been using the cable that came with my S100 for the 6D2. Having a reasonable alternative is helpful.

For those who have Lightroom, the 90D raw files open directly in the current version - haven’t tried any M6 II files yet though.

Waiting for a good review of the 90D’s low light focusing ability. Being a crop will hamper that of course but still would love to see a significant improvement. I have no issues with my 6D but my wife’s 60D really is near useless in low light situations.

Why would an APS-C camera have inferior low light focusing capability?

Today, Canon's dynamic range in low light conditions (read: when using high ISO) is equivalent or better than anybody else's. It's at base ISO they've been lagging the last few years, but there to they are pretty close today. If you look further back, they were way ahead.

Focusing using spot AF doesn't have higher precision, not in that it focuses "better". But it's allowed to look at a smaller area, and that's the reason for that the signal processing done to figure out what is what in that area is more demanding. It's like scanning the area around you while looking through a tube. It takes more to figure out what's what.

Are there any options when it comes to using the M6II with the viewfinder and a hotshoe flash or is it viewfinder or flash only? It's the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger and sadly is a dealbreaker for me.

Is there also any info about the subject tracking function being automatic or at least selectable through the viewfinder or is it only a touch on screen to begin tracking option?

I have far more USB cables here than I ever remember buying things that use them. I have a couple with proprietary connectors on the device end that I can't match to a device.

Does the color look right?

I used the latest DNG converter into RAWTherapee, and the color is off a bit.

I really wish these people would shoot lens caps at the highest ISO, a medium ISO, and base ISO. That is what I want to see, as an arbitrary photo in arbitrary light with arbitrary exposure isn't a very precise indicator of noise. Exposures are good for showing color response, but they need to shoot a common scene as other cameras, like at Imaging-Resource or DPR's studio comparison tool.
