Hi. I appreciate help on this ID. Taken in mid Michigan on Aug 29. This is the only picture I got of the bird.
I am ruling out Bank Swallow due to lack of breast band.
I am ruling out Tree Swallow due to the orange on the neck.
I am ruling out Northern Rough-winged because of the light collar on the nape.
In Michigan then that leaves only Barn Swallow as the normal remaining choice. However, the wings seem too short and coloring seems too light for Barn Swallow.
That leaves only Cliif or Cave which would be awfully rare this far north.
I'm missing something and appreciate any counsel.
