Dorian is coming near Rhode Island this Saturday, fortunately we are avoiding a direct hit but unfortunately we are expecting lots of rain.

I am heading to Newport to take pictures of the surf but worry about my gear. I had ordered to cheap rain covers (2 for $7) to see how they would do.

The do cover my 80D or 6Dii but it doesn't give much room to work the camera from inside but it works fine from the outside.

The question I have is the Sigma 150-600 Sport is supposed to be weather proof (?) but my 2 camera are weather/dust resistant meaning I wouldn't want them out in a rainstorm.

How do the older 5D's (ii and iii) hold up to rain? how would the 5D and the 7D compare for use in the rain?

I am assuming the best is the cover

The 5DII is not particularly weather sealed. The 7D is better, probably as good as any non 1-series
