I particularly like the shafts of light wafting down from the upper right side of the first photo. Adds a great deal of mood to the pictures, at least in my rank amateur opinion.

I, too, love the god rays cooming into the frame from the upper right - beautiful light!

I also think that recurved tine on the bull is super cool and super unique ..... can't say I've ever seen a bull with a tine like that.

Nice photos, that is a wicked looking rack for sure. Hoping to get after some elk soon myself, these shots would be so pleasing to me.

the rut is in full swing right now, given the warmer weather is might be on for a few more weeks now...I was just up there this past weekend and it was not as busy as last year when it was cooler this time of year.


Were these shot at Oconaluftee or Cataloochee?
