I have the standalone version of LR6 that no longer gets updates. When I first bought it a few years ago I remember installing an add on but can't remember what it was for.

Is there any way to add on the luminance range mask? Maybe a 3rd party add on because I'm sure Adobe wouldn't provide it because they want everyone to get the monthly subscription.

LR 6 (perpetual) and LR CC 2015 (subscription) were essentially the same apps. However, some of the new tools in the app, which were featured in LR 2015, had no user access in LR 6's GUI. One of them was Dehaze and shortly after the release of 6/2015 somebody wrote and posted a plugin for LR 6 which opened access to Dehaze. That is probably what you are remembering.

But Range Masking was not introduced until 2 1/2 years later with the release of LR CC 2018 and by that time Adobe had ceased offering a perpetual alternative. CC 2018 became CC Classic 7 and then Classic 8.

There is no plugin that I know of which will supply Range Masking to old obsolete versions of Lightroom.

I also use LR 6.

If it is Dehaze you are looking for, I have the files saved and can make them available.

Though it does not show as a slider like in newer LR versions.

Dehaze shows in the developement module as presets.

Thank you for the replies!

Yes, it was the dehaze tool that I previously added on. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

I'm sad to hear there's no way for me to add on the range mask to my version of LR.

The code for LR6 was essentially the same as LR CC 2015. They both included the code for the Dehaze function but the LR6 interface was crippled to stop you using it. Because the code existed it was possible to get around the crippling by using Presets to apply the dehaze function.

Since then there have been two new Process versions and several new features added to the code. The code for these features isn't in the LR6 code so there is no was to "enable" it's use.
