Same here. I pre-ordered on 9/5, so it didn't take too long.

Just keeping an eye on this thread as there is a good chance the next full frame body will be based on this sensor wafer, so a good reference for IQ. :)

The Canon Experience store in Melbourne put on an evening with the 90D and M6II.

I played mostly with with the 90D in the ambient lighting studio; there was also an adjacent studio with remote triggered strobe lighting.

Jpegs processed quickly in Lightroom - forgot to change the camera setting to RAW - oops

A couple more at slightly higher ISO - I am sure with more care they could be crisper and more noise removed - same applies to the ones above.

I took a bunch of bird photos today....swapping back and forth between my 1DXII and the 90D at higher ISO in gray, dark conditions. The 90D is VERY impressive with a 600mm II and a 1.4xIII. I'll post some shots later.

Below is a apples to apples, straight from the camera...nothing done, but scale to 1600 wide (and subject crop). Lens was mounted on a tripod and remained in the same spot. The 90D doesn't look much different grain-wise (ISO 5000). At distance, the 90D killed the 1DX on detail (license plates, signs, bricks), as would be expected. Autofucus takes a lot longer, but very reasonable.

Those Goldfinch photos look promising. How was the AF performance (although that should be like shooting fish in a barrel)? Did you use SPOT AF?

@mfingar -

Thanks for your feedback and the posts. I, too, would like to know the AF performance, which is of primary importance to bird photographers. The ISO performance looks good, as expected.

I cycled through all af modes...they worked great, slower than 1Dx, but on par with my 5D series bodies.

Had success tracking hummingbirds if that says something.

Tomorrow, I hope to have better weather and hunt some aircraft. Weather right now is gloomy and dark.

My initial review is that this camera it's going to be extremely popular with the wildlife community.

In good light, it focuses very fast and is phenomenally Sharp. If you have a decent telephoto lens, you won't be sorry. Well it's not as fast as my 1dx II, it certainly it mops the floor when it comes to resolution.

I can do without the cr3 format for the files, as it limits your options to Lightroom. I'm not a big fan of Lightroom, I do everything in Photoshop raw editor.

Buffer kept up with me all day, can't think of a single instance in over a thousand shots that I ran short. This coming week I'll be shooting several F18 practice demos and I'm sure it'll put that to the test.

I'll post some of the shots from today later on
