hobs1466 did provide a link to scopes in general range.

Forgot to post the link

the 14" is a bit easier to use

https://www.telescope.com …=US&keyword=meade+14+inch (external link)

https://www.telescope.com …393.uts?keyword=meade%208 (external link)

Personally unless you build a observatory/shed to hold the scope an 8" or smaller is a better fit

Also refractors up to 6" are also great and you can get color corrected ones.

Second the 8" or smaller observation. My 10" was not too bad when I was in my 20's, now it's a real effort.

Can someone please tell me, does the 90D have GPS built in? To my knowledge no it does not unless I have to go into the menu system to turn it on??

No it doesn't Inspeqtor. You can add an external GPS to it and there are menu settings for one if you do but there isn't one built in.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Thank you Pippan!

How do I go about finding one to add to my camera?

Thank you sparks. Out of stock and pricey.

Are there any third party manufacturers? I would think so...

I was recently looking into this, why I knew the device. The mobile Canon Camera Connect app can be used but it's clunky and a pain to regularly use. Other third-party devices like Canon's got poor reviews. It can be found at some dealers - and ebay - if you Google it. But it seemed to me to be the best, reliable solution.

I'm constantly disappointed that the 90D doesn't have a GPS. My other 2 bodies have them and I use that little piece of exif data all the time.

I considered buying an external GPS but they're too expensive and seem like a hassle. If the coordinates are important enough to grab in the field, I'll fire off a shot with my phone when I have a free moment just to get them. Contents of the phone picture don't matter, just the data collected at that place.

Yes, exactly. That is what I do. Then in Lightroom you can manually enter the coordinates.

I found eBay has the Canon brand for about 1/2 price (external link) of Canon, does that get your interest?

I have looked for but have not found these are compatible with the 90D, but I have seen they work for the 70D so they should work for the 90D am I correct??

It will work with the 90D. One thing that put me off was the size. There's a lot of mass to the 90D + lens already and that device is big. I finally decided that I didn't want one (I went through this process less than two weeks ago myself).

It's been a while since I gave it much thought. Having to clamp a device on top turned me off as much as the price.

I decided against it because I just don't want to have something more to add, which would prevent me from using the built in flash or my 580EXII

I had the same thoughts here as well.
