Also clear any custom functions. This will ensure that the camera moving forward will behave as the manual describes. Then as you make your "custom" changes to suit your style, take notes. The manuals are located at https://www.usa.canon.com …s/dslr/eos-6d?tab=manuals I did all that. There is just a little note saying that when using the flash in live view, the shutter will click twice, but doesn't explain why. The camera (6D mark I) is awesome by the way! I'm so glad I got it. In live view the shutter is open so you can see the image being projected on the camera sensor. The flash timing is dependent on the shutter, so the shutter must close before reopening to properly time/fire the flash. So, yes in live view it is supposed to happen. Even in your second post the inclusion of "live view shooting" is kind of an aside and you seem to ignore calls for more details when in reality that detail is the key to the problem. Actually, who knows if it is even a problem or you were just asking out of curiosity? Details matter, help us help you. Signed, Tired Dad I apologize, sorry about not being clear. Anita W.

ETTL (briefly) requires the mirror down. The capture requires the mirror up again. Then everything re-sets. More info (Nikon slanted) here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3952158 & 7D here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN4SfVxWAzA That makes perfect sense. thanks for the info Anita W.
