Who prefers 24mm prime over 24-70mm for weddings or portraits? Or vice versa

Curious who among users of this forum may prefer prime 24mm lenses for weddings or portraits. I'm familiar with using a 24-70mm 2.8, but pondering one of several primes. Including Canon 24mm 2.8 with IS ... Canon 24mm 1.4 ii .. and Zeiss 25mm 2.0 Distagon

If some of you migrated prime to the zoom, that story is of interest too.
