Studio Paint- What to use?

What type of studio paint is generally used for white walls or specifically cyc walls? The cyc wall gets dirty after every use and I wish there was a better way to maintain it instead of painting it. We get "Studio Photo White" matte paint from a store in NYC but if there is a more general purpose paint that can be purchased from a store like home depot or lowes, it makes it easier.

Have people had success using regular matte paint from a general hardware store?
thx!

When I photographed product in house for a major kids furniture and toy manufacturer, a Home Depot plain white got the job done for us.

Don't know about the paint, but I was watch this video which the photographer was painting his cyc wall and talking to camera at the same time :) He did mention what paint he used and how he maintained it.

Long video, skip to 17 min mark..

... and when I worked at a catalog photography studio 40 years ago, I can remember us painting the cyc wall constantly. The above video seems to confirm that things haven't changed.

The WALLS get dirty? What are you shooting?

We used to dilute the water based paint for touch up. No need to use full strength unless you are changing the color.

Google: Magic Eraser

The things work really well for cleaning up paint.

I used to buy many 5 gallon buckets of Glidden flat white, Hope Depot stocked it.
You can also get the mixing base without any color in it. Buy a quart of three or four different brands of flat white. Some will not look good under your lights in your studio. Just buy enough so you have it when you need it and it will be from the same batch. I'd like to have 20 gallons or so just in case. A roll of brown kraft paper is a cheap thing to lay down to keep the floor clean.

I’ll also stick blue painters tape to the bottom of a model’s shoes to keep white paper, floor/vinyl clean.
