It seems ideal to us perhaps, to give potential customers a plethora of choices ...

To me, it doesn't seem ideal at all to give the customer a plethora of choices, when speaking of in-person sales. . That actually sounds horrible, because of the extreme amount of time and money that is required to offer many options. . Giving the customer a great number of choices sounds like a horrible, expensive, time-consuming nightmare that I want no part of. . Online sales, of course, are an entirely different dynamic.

..... I think offering too many choices means they have to put more time and energy into a purchase then they may want to.

Exactly right for in-person sales presentations.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

You are right, Tom. It is an expensive and time consuming endeavor. I attend art fairs, offering our photography printed on metal.

Things I have learned are:

1. If you don't offer enough choices to visually engage and hold the attention of potential customers, they quickly scan and exit.

2. I have learned what our most popular images are, but I can never second guess what will speak to people.

3. Invest in an inventory. If you sell an image, you don't want to wait until it is printed again to be able to sell it again.

4. Take the time to hand sign and title your images. It gives the impression of NOT being mass produced, and personalizes each piece.

However, I'm still a rookie compared to most career photographers, so I could be totally going about it the wrong way!
