Colorado Abstract?

I visited my daughter's family in Colorado just in time for fall color. Here's an odd one that I like but it may be a bit abstract for some. The lines have more of a "graphic design" feel than most landscapes and you may think the sky is too blue. And the deep black in the trees on the front hill is supposed to be a photo-no-no. I'm not yet sure what I think but I am drawn to it. I would appreciate comments.

That's not at all what I understand the word "abstract" to mean. The color seems enhanced, but everything in the frame is recognizable.

Maybe graphic is a better choice.

The colors don't bother me, they look good actually, or the shadows, but a road is a strong leading line, and having it right on the edge makes the photo feel unbalanced to me. I think just standing out there in the middle of the road might have been the way to go, as long as you are going to have it in the photo, make it more prominent. That weed on the right side of the picture is a bit of a distraction too. Of course, without seeing the whole scene we can't know if you were framing it to keep stuff out of the shot, like maybe there is a hamburger stand just out of the picture on the left.

Thanks Patrick. I've looked at that road quite a bit. I agree it fights the balance in the photo and it would be easy enough to clone out but I think the tension it produces actually helps. It seems to me that most of the other lines in the photo meet between the first and second hill so the bit of incongruity shakes things up. I think the foreground would be a bit dull without the road. However. that stalk in the lower right does not seem to important Thanks for a very interesting comment.
