After scaling down the side of a hill and paying the $10 fee/waiver of we’re not responsible for injuries, I sat up shop for some long exposure captures from this point of view. It was a long hike and needless to say I was going to take my time and try to get the shot I wanted. This is darn near as close to straight out of the camera as it gets. I used a 10 stop ND filter (Stupid me left my new 6 stop on the stairs at home, WHY ME?).
Anyways, my daughter and I got our feet wet and enjoyed the closeup views. I think the PoV from the top is overall a better capture of this area but it's always fun to try new things

We did the hike, which is a 9 mile out and back on a rocky road. We were very tired but seeing the Mill in person was definitley worth the trip.
We debated quite a bit whether to hike or rent a ATV/UTV but the financial burden just wasn’t worth it to us. On the positive side, we hiked near a river almost the entire way and had amazing scenery at every turn in the hike.
The trail is rated as moderate by “All Trails” and I would say that is true except for the first part. The first quarter mile was entirely uphill and gettting aclimated to the elevation was a problem for my daughter and I.
This part of the country at this time of the season is really a show stopper. I encourage anyone that loves fall foliage to visit this part of Colorado in late September. The drive in from Aspen to Marble is literally jaw dropping as well. Never would I have imagined landscapes that I witnessed. I almost thought I was in Yosemite in California for awhile. I could have stopped at every curve in the road.
