I've recently come into a pile of lighting equipment.
4 PCB White lightning Ultra 600's
2 Ultra 1200's
1 Ultra 1800.
I have at least 2 sends for each light, backdrops, literally everything for a studio...except the building.
I've been having a lot of fun using them over the last 10 months or so. Most of the time I'm within reach of an outlet, so power has never been much of an issue. The lights all take the standard PC power cord. Being in IT, I have boxes of these. But I've had a shoot where I was miles from an outlet and needed to being my generator. Not that it was a big deal, I was at a racetrack (results here https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=18893945). I was asked to take some maternity photos for my sister in law, but the location got shot down (pumpkin patch) because we couldn't bring a generator. I'm using a small Ryobi 1800 inverter generator. Its very quiet after as generators go. But its still a gas powered engine and not as quiet as a, portable battery.
All that to ask. Is there a battery pack that yall would recommend? I've seen the PCB Vagabond ii and Mini ($250 or so) and they seem pretty well suited for my needs (2 of the 600's MAYBE 3). And I don't recall ever shooting more than 200 shots at a time. More or less just picking minds. The spec sheet on the Vagabond mini say that it will give 2 of my 600's around 300 Full Power shots. If I did my math correctly lol.
