Surprised the forum hasn't added this lens to the gear yet. I learned about this 150mm from a Youtube macro video, and the best reviews I read were by Dustin Abbott in 2 other videos. This is my first macro lens ever, so I won't say much about it other than I love the look of the overall image. That's what Abbott's reviews showed that caught my attention. It will be work to learn closer macro, and I'm keeping some extra working distance for now. What I can tell the first day, is this will be 90% for macro. Reviewers are right. So little focus throw goes to the long end. And near or far, live view is essential for me. I can use the focus assist on the EOS R for a Zeiss 135mm Apo Sonnar with little trouble. With this Irix 150mm, I must use live view, and a tripod.

Bought it used on Amazon listed as "good" for $365 and got one-day shipping free. The paper said "pre-owned" but the condition resembled new, excellent or open box. Not a mark anywhere.

Here'a couple from a Bird Nest Fern in my home office. The distant photo was with natural light from the window and I held a little softbox above the closeup.

Had a chance to use this Irix 150mm again today, and this time on the Canon 5DS.

I gather that the color is as nice as any lens I've ever used, but sharpness and detail isn't comparable to the best of Zeiss. And I think that Canon's best L lense, including the 100mm macro 2.8 L should be better, regardless what charts say. But this Irix 150mm should be a keeper.
