Hello,

Im looking for a suggestion for smallest possible bag/backpag/sling/toploader that can fit 1Dx with 24-105 and preferably single speedlite. Nothing else nothing more.

Smallest is preferable since i want to take it to when im shooting at places where i cant move with backpack on my back ... like concerts or someplace where i want to be as low key as possible.

Thanks in advace

Tamrac Velocity 8X fits my gripped 7D2 and 70-200 plus another lens or flash and is comfortable to carry.
The Thintank Speedracer 2.0 is a step above - very compact given it will carry 3-4 lens and a flash.
I use both - the Tamrac when I know I don't need a lot of gear - is sits very close to the body.
My Thinktank by far gets more use due ot the small-ish size and how much more it can carry.

The Tamrac is taller but is thinner and more narrow in profile.

This is the SpeedRacer V2 with gripped 7D2 with attached 18-55 2.8, 70-200 on left and 85 1.8 and Godox flash on right covered up...

I have a photographic memory, just wish I'd remember to take the lens cap off more often!

DrMitch, thanks for suggestion. I did go right away and looked at these and first thing that hit me is how big these bags are. Wooow. I might have to lower my expectation a little :)

I cant believe at this point that having pro body (with grip) is such a pain regarding bags ... While these are exactly what i asked. I cant imagine being able to have it on me while shooting on a venue and not bump into people with it. I have ooooold Lowepro Toploader ... but it was only for non gripped bodies and it was perfect ... small inconspicuous bag. Nowadays LowePro Toploader 70 and 75 Pro are huuuge.

Thanks for suggestions

I truly appreciate it

What you want is a Think Tank Photo "Retrospective" (external link) bag... Top shelf construction and materials, super smart designs. These bags in particular are great because they're lightweight - the padding is effective, but kept to an absolute minimum to keep the overall size down. They're travel friendly with features like a luggage loop across the back and space for a laptop/tablet. I use several sizes of these for various equipment and I haven't had an issue with a single one, spanning many years of heavy use. Can't recommend them enough.

i just took a look at those bags and from what i see only Retrospective® 10 V2.0 fits my needs. My only gripe is ... price :) Its steep at 170$ for a only camera with lens bag. But since its either that or Lowepro Toploader Pro, Ill give it a go at local camera shop. Thanks

I think that 1DX and 'low key' are oxymorons!!!

I agree :) but I need a bag just to fit camera and lens on camera ... making it really small in camera bag metrics. Its something i can take my camera out and then slide on my back and move around the crowd and not have huge camera bag that bumps on everyone or is cumbersome for me to carry.

I use a Lowepro Stealth Reporter 100AW...their model lines have evolved, so explore what Lowepro currently offers. The 100AW designation is the smallest bag in any line among all their model
lines, but toploader bags do not follow that naming guideline. Their website shows dimensional information which helps in the selection of a bag that fits what you have.

ThinkTank Retrospective 20
I carry a Gripped 5D Mark III with a 70-200 attached in the bag, yes it is longer than a 24-105. I also carry a Canon 600 EX-RT inside on the left of body. The Gripped body does make our bag choice more towards the bigger options.
I walk around in cities or events with this style of bag with ease.
