Working with Foam Core

I want to adhere a blank piece of 1/4" foam core to the back of an image mounted on 3/8" foam core. What would be the preferred method?

Lay print face down, use spray mount on back. Push foam core onto it. Trim.

Alternatively you could roll the spray mount applied print onto the foam core starting from one end to the other. If you have a wide enough burnishing roller this should minimize any air bubbles.
