Depending on how much this is cropped, it may be just fine.

FWIW, I have had to AF Fine tune my DSLR's for use with any of my TC's & lens combos.

One of the surprise beauties of the Z bodies is that AF Fine tunes no longer seems to be required. I know it's still there in the menu system, but I have not used it on any of my lenses with the Z50 or Z6.

Thats because the Focus info goes direct to the image sensor and not via a focusing mirror set up like in your D500 thats why Live View focus can be more accurate to start off with and needs no adjustment.

Yep I am upgrading from a D7100/Tamy 70-300 combo so I am expecting some improvement.

Thanks Phil, I did a bit of shooting the other day but nothing much, still trying to work out if I need to use the micro focus adjustment, I did a quick test in the house using two targets (cereal boxes) placed next to each other one slightly infront of the other, then locked focus on each and compared focus they seamed to be as I wanted - sharp focus on the focus point, that was from about 25 feet distance.
