I am currently using VP2468 24"FHD monitor with Wacom Intuos Pro Small for photo editing. I am going to replace current monitor with 27"WQHD monitor.
Should I need to replace my Small tablet to Medium?? If anyone have experience with this combo please share your thoughts...

I don't think that the monitor size makes any difference in what size tablet you are using. I do have a medium tablet and I am considering moving to a small one after using one for a bit. There is just too much hand movement needed with the medium and I prefer to be able to limit movement to mainly my wrist. I find I can be much more accurate that way.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

No. You don't need a larger tablet for the same reason you won't need a larger mouse pad.

I disagree with the previous responses. I think a small tablet is too small for such a big screen.

Why? You have no more info/resolution between a small or large screen. It's just bigger.

There are some long standing beliefs that tablets must get bigger as the monitor gets bigger. In some cases and for some users that can be true. I've never found there to be much relationship between the two for me.

One of the biggest factors that should determine how big of a tablet you need is how you use it. Do you mostly make fine motions with your fingers, or move your wrist, or make broader sweeping strokes with more of your arm? Obviously the bigger the stroke you want to use the larger you might want your tablet to be.

The first two tablets I had were similar in size, and I've had tablets since the late 90s. During that time screens got bigger and bigger, in fact my monitors are the biggest they've ever been and newest tablet is the smallest I've owned yet.

So, I don't believe we can really tell you which tablet is the right size for you. You'll have to figure that out for yourself based on how you are most comfortable interacting with it and what you need from it.

Thankyou!! Considering all the replies and the information got in internet, I have to try it by myself.
My understanding from the info is, for sketching or fine art work or digital painting, large tablet may require(as they need to work most of the time the entire image or painting need to be displayed) but for photo retouching most of the time,I am going to work zoomed in. Hence small tablet should be ok, but i will try and decide on...

Yes, I should have further detailed that other side of it as well. How you work with the tablet and with the image in your editing program will ultimately be what should determine the best tablet size for you.

Yes, this is the key to choosing a tablet size. Screen size has nothing to do with it. I use a 24" monitor and a small Wacom Intuos (5.5" x 4.5"). But I have the active area mapped down to less that one-fourth of the tablet area (screen shot below). That's approximately the area of a standard business card. Obviously, my elbow and shoulder joints don't get into the act. It's all finger movements and some slight wrist movements.

Thankyou again @Colorblinded !!!

Thankyou @Peano... I got surprised with the mapping of your tablet to the screen. People in internet say the cursor will jump. But I doubt it after seeing your mapping.
I will try mine with new monitor and will post again...

Wacom, and I assume other tablets, have a couple modes.

You probably know this but just in case: In mouse mode it won't jump, you move the cursor by pushing the pen around. In pen mode you map some or all of the tablet to some or all of your screens. Wherever you place the pen on the tablet, the cursor will jump to that point on the screen.

I'm with Peano on this. I use a 27" monitor with a Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Small tablet. My tablet is mapped thusly:

This translates to roughly a 3" wide by 2" tall area. So even my small tablet goes about 85% unused

6D, 7D2, T4i, 16-35mm f/4L IS, 100mm Macro f/2.8L IS, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS, 50mm f/1.4 IS, EF-S 55-250, 1.4 II TC, Kenko Extension Tubes, MeFoto Globetrotter & Roadtrip Tripods, Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC

I don't understand what you mean by "the cursor will jump."
