Phase One is evidently changing the naming strategy for Capture One Pro. The current release is 12.x with the logical next major release being 13. Maybe they are superstitious. They are saying if you purchase C1P-12 now, you will get a free upgrade to C1P-20. Note 20, 13. I guess we will see 20 out by the end of November.

I looked at it about 8 years ago. Again a few years ago when LR was going subscription. The colour gets you right away. They are very good at that. I was close but it was the price that stopped me. I rarely skip upgrades so that was a factor as well. I have only skipped one so far.

The preorders for C1P 20 can be done now. The update cost for existing customers is 20% off. With the code "OCT-AF-QUW" you can get another 10% off. That gives an upgrade price of $107. No word yet about new features and improvements.
