Congrats! You should love the G6!

Over time, please consider buying the following items to make your G6 experience even more enjoyable...

-extra batteries (try http://www.sterlingtek.com/cabpbapaeq.html (external link))
-more compact flash memory (shoot at the largest image size and resolution)- buy 40X speed or greater - which works faster in the USB 2 card reader (see below)
-a Canon 420 or 430EX flash (incredible way to take night pictures and provide fill flash)
-good imaging software - Photoshop CS2 (hi end) to Photoshop Elements 4 or Corel Paint Shop Pro X (at the lower cost but still very friendly end)
-a GOOD and sturdy camera bag - I love my LOWEPRO
-a sturdy TRIPOD or MONOPOD - buy a used or new better quality pro unit from Bogen, Gitzo, or others - great way to remove shake and taken better long exposure shots
-have a good way to print the photos - some like home printers, I prefer the low cost Fuji 1 hour minilab at Sam's Club and use www.adorama.com (external link) for my top quality and special prints (at a VERY reasonable cost).
-Buy a compact flash card reader (USB 2.0) - high speed card reading since the camera to PC is a slow USB link.

Enjoy!!

-BG-E2 Grip.

-Mamiya 645-1000s (Film).
-AE Prism Finder.
-Sekkor 80mm Lens

Suggest a 512 MB memory card.
Because it will transfer to a CD completely without continueing onto a second CD.
And leaves room for some processed images too.

Hmm, the G6 isn't a Digic II camera (atlhough it is a good camera). Quality if the pics depends on the user though:lol:

I'd suggest getting at least a 1 GB card.
CD's as storage medium are as much a thing of the past as small memory cards.
I used 2 x 1 GB cards on my 4 MP G2 and found it just ok ... each card took about 250 RAW images. I am very happy that I recently got a DVD writer to backup my images.

Best regards,
Andy

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

Ya, the G6 is getting my old 1GB Ultra II card. I upgraded to a 4GB Ultra II for the 5D and I got plently of other little cards floating around here somewhere :)
