I have a Nikon ES-1 slide adapter (to copy 35mm slides) designed to fit onto a Nikon 55mm macro lens. However, I want to use the slide adapter on a Canon 6D & a 100mm macro lens. Because of the focal length of the lens, I need an extension between the lens & the slide adapter to avoid cropping the slide. To accomplish this, I will need a 52mm male/female extension tube. The correct length of the tube might require a bit of trial & error. Does anyone know where I might find such a tube? My search has come up empty.

Thank you for any help.

There are metal lens hoods on eBay and elsewhere that come in various sizes. The ones that I have purchased have the same size filter threads at both ends so they could make a nice simple 52mm extension tube.

They generally come in wide, standard and tele sizes. They are cheap so get yourself one standard, and one tele, to see what works for you.

Just search out "52mm metal lens hood" and you should be able to find some options.

Bad news.... I rechecked and my 52mm hood actually has a 58mm filter thread for lens cap. So it has 58mm female thread at one end and 52mm male thread at the other end.

I guess you could always use some filter thread adapters to end up with what you need. You could use the 52mm hood and then ad a 58 to 52mm reducer at the other end so both ends are 52mm.

After some deliberation, I opted to get a used Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm lens & a lens adapter to fit by Canon 6D. The Micro-Nikkor lens comes with a 27.5mm extension tube to achieve 1:1 magnification. Actually, the set-up was quite inexpensive. Now it's just a matter of seeing how it will work.
