Aside from the JPG compression artifacts that image looks good. Try posting a small100% crop so you can turn down the compression.

I see compression artifacts (normal) when I get a couple inches from my 19" LCD screen, but aside from that it's a beautifully sharp shot...and a great capture to boot!

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I can. It's where you enlarge an image to 100% view in your image editor and just crop out a small section. Don't resize that section or anything. Just crop it out and save it as-is.

Don't enlarge it. Just view it at 100% on your screen and crop it. That's it. Don't crop it to resize either. You want a "life size" portion of the image.

It's a good shot BG. A good 'feel' to it. Nice pose, composition, good skin color and tone, and WB seems good too. I see only a few JPEG artifacts. Did you shoot RAW? If not, what size image did you shoot on the camera? Part of the problem is the 100KB limit for image attachments, so you might want to post your images using Image Hosting like Imageshack or similar.

That image is only 33.49KB...nowhere near the attachment limit. The artifacts are compression, guaranteed. That's severe. BUT it doesn't look bad if I'm a normal distance from my monitor. Cut back on the compression and you won't see these "jaggies".

I don't know what software you use, but in Photoshop, you can Save for Web or Save As and choose a percentage or scale (quality). The higher the percentage or number on the scale, the bigger the file, but the higher the quality and less compression artifacts you see.

Lowering the percentage drops the quality and the filesize.

High Compression means you used a lower percentage/scale and therefore have a lower quality image. Low Compression (ie cutting back on the compression) means the opposite.
