I like the added bonus of a plane in the first photo.

A double transit! That's hard to beat. And how come the plane is about 50 times larger than a planet? -?

Mercury is an average distance of 48 million miles (77 million km) from Earth. The aeroplane is much smaller, but also much closer.:-)

This is why you can blot out the Sun with your thumb when you hold your thumb just in front of your eye.

Cheers

Dennis

I already knew the answer, and I appreciate the explanation. I was just trying to be funny.

Hi David

No worries, the confused face icon tipped me over the edge, otherwise I would have taken it as a tongue in cheek comment.:-) :p

Cheers

Dennis
