Since there doesn't seem to be any improvement to the Yongnuo YN560IVs, and Godox/Flashpoint is highly recommended (including by me), what's the manual equivalent to the YN560IV in the Godox (preferably Flashpoint) line?

I've already got a TTL Flashpoint speedlight, but am looking to replace a set of three manual Amazon Basics speedlighs that I use for indoor macro and still life. I'm just looking for something a litle more sophisticated. TTL is not required.

That would be the R2 manual flash, but beside better integration to the R2 trigger system, they are still the same AA powered manual speedlights.

For indoors and still life, have you considered using AC monolights? Monolight's modeling light helps setting up the shoot, and you could use real modifiers without using adaptors.

That's a list of ALL of their speedlights, manual AND TTL.

I'm looking for an equivalent of the YN560IV.

Thanks.

I have both, Flashpoint 300 series wireless strobes and Amazon Basics manual flashes. I'm looking to replace/supplant the latter with something more sophisticated similar to the YN560IV, only reliable.

These ones with the included re-chargeable lithium ion batteries are the way to go IMHO.

"R2" means it's compatible with all the best new Godox remote system.

"TTL" means just that, it can be used Auto TTL or manual.

This one;

...is the same flash but uses standard AA instead of the li-ion pack.

Thanks. I'm looking for manual flashes comparable to the YN560IV because they're substantially cheaper than the TTL version. I have a TTL Flashpoint speedlight and like it, but don't want to spring for three of them. I don't need (or want to pay for) TTL when manual will do.

The TT600 has same size, power output, and HSS as your TT685. The YN560IV does not support HSS. More importantly, you already have the Godox triggers..
