please help canon t3i blurry images

yesterday i shot a wedding and got home to start editing the pictures and i noticed that almost every single picture off of this camera came out blurry even though i was using a flash. not the onboard. i did try to switch the lens when i got home to see if i used a bad lens but with all 6 of my lens that i tried the pictures comes out blurry. and i used my canon 6d to test the lens and everything looks sharp. i tried carefully cleaning the mirror with a micro fiber cloth.

does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this issues or is the camera just bad?

im also running magic lantern on the camera.

I’d first of all remove the magic lantern and do a test with a separate memory card that has been formatted in camera. If still blurry, then consider setting the camera back to factory defaults and then again do a retest. Report back the results.

I agree with the factory defaults, except that the AF should be changed to a single focus point.

ok i tested another sd card and it worked fine. no blurry images. then i put the old sd card back in and bam. blurry images again. so i took the card out and formated it in my computer to get magic lantern off and then put it back in the camera and formatted it again. im back to making clear shots again.

also when i change the af to a single point. would the center point be the best? i always left it on auto

If you have it on auto, it will generally focus on the nearest contrasty object, and that is very often the wrong place. So pick a single AF point that you need. The center one often gives best performance, though. Not sure about whether that is so with the T3i.

There are times when it is advantageous to select multiple points, so that is worth reviewing.

OK, the T3i has one cross-type AF point, and it is the center one. So it would be the most reliable. The other ones are there for a reason, though, so switch to those when necessary.

The mirror had nothing to do with your blurry images, nor does the card unless one had magic lantern and the other did not. I have to believe your blurry images were due to a combination of not using a preset AF point and shutter speeds too slow, or one or the other.

Please post a couple examples.

I was thinking the same - if you can post some examples with exif info attached we can get a better idea of what went on...
