Fire Bombers in Australia

The local RAAF Richmond based bombers have been kept busy lately flying most days from sun up to last light.

Taken over the past two late afternoons from my back yard.

Interesting mix of aircraft - nicely done!


some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

And one of their aero commanders returning just before dark. We've been shrouded in smoke for the last couple of weeks now, sometimes it's not worth getting the camera out but sometimes the late afternoon sun mixed with some smoke haze produces some interesting light effects.

Great set. Not long ago the only fixed wing fire Bombers in Oz were Air Tractors. First time I have seen the Avro RJ85.
