Hi guys, I was watching a video where the AD600 Pro is supposedly just little more then a half stop 0.6 then the AD400 Pro. Is this something you all would agree with? I have a Phottix Indra 500 that sits my needs in strong sunlight. I was thinking of getting the AD400 because I use a AD200 also and speed lights system.

What are your feelings on the power differences? Is it that noticeable or is it really 0.6 difference?

Not that much differences in term of power to me, but size and weight are definitely noticeable between the 400 and 600.

Beside some meter testings, the only time I shoot with my Godox Ad600 at full power is outdoor with softbox under the strong sun. In those situation, if the AD400 does not have enough power, more than likely neither does the AD600.

For indoor shooting, I hardly use more than 1/4 power with my AD400. In fact, I use 1/256 more often than the higher outputs.

In the video, the tests were bouncing off the ceiling with different lights and reflectors, not the typical direct way to compare power of strobes.

Modifiers can change the power output significantly. I did a AD400 light spread test with the different reflector at close distance that maybe interesting.

Same AD400, 3 feet from wall, camera at f16, I changed the power settings to get close to the same exposure. Reflectors: OEM 5", 7" standard, 10.5" high output, 10.5" with 30 degree grid, and the 14" Glow Magnum..
