I haven't had any luck searching online a side by side comparison between the Nikon 16-35mm f4.0 and the Canon 16-35mm f4.0L.

I currently own the Canon 16-35mm f4.0L (on my 7dmk2), and I have been contemplating buying the Nikon version for my D750.

How does the Nikon compare to the Canon version in terms of IQ?

In this case, the Canon lens is sharper across the entire image, noticeably sharper in the corners.
The Nikon has more C.A.,.
The Canon has also better distortion correction, the Nikon having noticeable barrel distortion at 16mm and pincushion distortion at 35mm.

All that said, they are both great lenses with very high IQ, but you won't gain anything by adding the Nikon other than convenience.

Thanks!! I wonder if Nikon has an equivalent lens like the Canon 16-35mm f4.0L?

I have only Canon camera bodies and lenses have nothing to compare it to.
Depending on use I often times buy the best lenses I can afford period. I planned ahead knowing I would be using my 16-35mm lens both for low light indoors and sometimes outdoors. I paid the extra money and wow the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM performance is great.
No regrets at all. I got exactly what wanted, an excellent performing lens. I find its works great indoors where flash is not allowed. So far I haven't really needed to use my professional flash. I'm old fashioned and sure a tripod would improve any results.
