Hi all, I recently got a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM... The stabilized version of the Sigma 105mm, but I don't know if the AF is working properly. I know this is a macro lens, but I still think that the AF doesn't work as it should. Here's what happens on a Canon 6D II and a Canon XT:

I set a focus point (or zone) in my viewfinder and then half-press the shutter button. It starts focussing the object and it stops focussing just before the object really gets in focus. It isn't a front focus issue because the camera doesn't confirm the focus, the lens just stops focusing. If I move myself a little bit back just to get the object in focus, the camera gives the focus confirmation (beep and highlights the focus point). I've tried that in several scenarios:

*OS turned off and on
*Lens distance switch on all three options
*Camera pointing upwards/downwards

It does sometimes focus good on the object, but almost always it fails .

Does anyone know if that is the normal behavior of this lens? Is the AF really that bad? I can't even use it for portraits. I've searched for this issue on the internet but I didn't find anything helpful, and I didn't find any review where the AF is tested.

Thanks in advance!

The lens is currently at the shop, but I remember it didn't focus in live view. I also tried it on a Sony a6500 with adapter and the AF was worse than on the 6D II.
