Here is an image of a male Frigatebird catching a newly emerged baby sea turtle.
We really had hoped to photograph a baby sea turtle heading to the ocean after emerging from its nest in the sand but it was not to be. The Frigatebirds had been constantly patrolling the beach waiting for this moment.
Nature is often harsh but baby sea turtles have a better chance of survival when they emerge at night or when many babies emerge from multiple nests at the same time.
