I’ve just purchased one of these Lexar Professional 128GB 1066x Speed 160MB/s UDMA 7 CompactFlash Memory Card , I checked the speed with Crystalmark, I get about 160mb/s read and 70mb/s write. I was expecting similar write speed as read. I’m getting about 100shots raw @ 10fps in 30 seconds on the 7d2.

I get similar if not slightly faster with a Sandisk Extreme 120mb/s 65gb card.

I was wondering if this is correct and if other people experience similar speeds.

I just checked with crystalmark on mine and i get 145-150 read and 115-120 write. If I use short cable its faster, but i mainly use 2 meters long usb cable so i get tiny bit slower speeds.

Thanks for doing the test, I’m still scratching my head why I get no better than 70mb/s write. I’ve been in touch with Lexar and the eBay seller,

Lexar want photos of the front and back of the card and photo of invoice. I was hoping to get a straight answer instead of going round the houses.

The eBay seller asked me to except 5$ compensation and wants me to withdraw the negative feedback? Another not so straight answer?

When did you buy the card, does it have the same label as my Lexar 1066?

I just took a better look and Your card is a knock off. I had one 32gb one that had similar sticker but fonts were different here and there ... if you dont have original to compare ... it looks legit. My knockoff was printed on mate sticker, and fonts were different. Here is what original card sticker looks like, so you can compare with yours and look to see if every single font is the same. Its kinda important since Lexar will not change that just when printing different number of GB on same sticker.

Here’s a photo of my card.
You can see the “r” and the “160 MB/s” is different on my card.

Mate .. remember when i said ... mate sticker? This is fake.

Mine is glossy, also x on 1066 different font. GB different font. 160 different font. MB/s also different.

As someone who had one of these fakes (32Gb one) ... i received full refund for my card, since i registered a fake goods dispute and was offered full refund ASAP. You have my original card photo ... just use that alongside yours to point out differences.

I’ve opened a dispute with eBay, TBH the card works well, it has full capacity, fast read speed and not bad write speed so it’s probably worth what I paid. Obviously it’s not what I want !

I checked https://www.lexar.com …-1066x-compactflash-card/ (external link) looks to confirm, looks the same as yours. Thanks

Here’s what I sent eBay

While on the subject of Lexar cards, the 1667X is the Deal of the Day (01/09/2020) at B&H. The 64GB is $22, the 128GB is $40 and the 256GB is $70. There is also a 2-pack option for each; the 64GB is $53 for instance.

Note that these are UHS-II so make sure your gear is compatible prior to making a purchase.

See https://www.bhphotovideo.com …dxc_1667x_uhs_2_64gb.html (external link) for details.

They are a fairly cheap UHS-II card mainly because they are V60 not V90 like the Sandisk UHS-II cards. They were selling them on Amazon UK for the 64gb 1667x for £20 recently. I have a 7D Mark 2 so I can’t taken advantage of the higher speeds. If I could I would buy this card.

Just an update to my original post thanks to mahzero info....... my 128gb card was fake. I got my money back and kept the card. TBH the card was probably worth the £40 I paid for it as the speeds were fast enough for my 7D mark 2 and the read speeds were up there with the Genuine Lexar 1066x.

It was a bit of a waist of time on my behalf actually because practically any card I have previous to buying the fake Lexar 1066x would have performed well enough for the 7D burst speed. You live and learn don't you :)
