Assuming the new full frame RF body will somewhat fill the shoes of a 5DS / 5DSR, but mirrorless, how much do you expect to pay or finance to buy one? Assuming 2 card slots, 60 to 80 megapixels, joystick added, etc..

Have any lingering questions or curiosity about the next one? What I'm most curious to learn, is will it have two processors, conveniently use the same LP-E6N battery, and provide medium file size options.

If the early 2020 body manifests and can do at least what the EOSR and 5DSR can do, and a bit more, would that be ample for your next "pro" body, or would you wait for the 3rd model whenever that happens?

Zero, Zilch, nada.nothing

How many of us need or want a 60-80 MP camera ??

Next

When is Canon going to release an A7iii or A9 camera with dual cards and a joy stick ?? because if they do, they will sell like the 5D4's when they came out

I certainly have interest in a pro grade mirrorless Canon body, but not if it has a super high megapixel count like you are suggesting. . I don't think that the photographers who are in the market for a full frame body with advanced autofocus and dual slots are in the same market as those who want super high resolution. . Those are different niches altogether.

I think the last thing Canon is interested in is making a mirrorless body that compares with the 5DSR. . The thing they need to do is to make a FF mirrorless body that compares to the 5D4. . That's obviously what people want, based on the fact that they sell a few 5DSRs, but sell gazillions of 5D4s.

I'm not going to pay fo ra 60-80MP sensor, only to use it on a small file size all the time. . I suspect most others feel the same way. . The 5DSR fills a very small niche market because super high resolution is something that very few photographers have an interest in.

The feature that I will be waiting for is near-perfect animal eye atuofocus (also a very small niche feature). . When Canon perfects the animal eye focus system to the point where it works reliably and precisely in all conditions, even when the animal is far away and small in the frame, and even when the eye is in a dark shadow, then I will get serious about buying into the mirrorless system. . If Sony does that first then I will probably move over to Sony.

"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I think when the pro model EOS R arrives it will be at least $3800 and I can see it being a lot more than that. Look at the RF glass alone, one lens $2,500? I can see the pro body being double that easily.

To some, I am sure, forking over > $3800 may be no problem but I'm not in that camp.

So, I'll stick with my 7D MK II and maybe even buy another before they are pulled from the market. After all, it is serving me well.

I'm very much looking forward to an 80MP Full Frame camera. It's the only thing Canon needs in its current line, and I can't wait to spend my money on one. It'll be a great addition to a 1D body.

Gotta be less than $3600 else why go Canon as Sony already has that camera in the $3500 range. Heck, all Canon needs to do is take the R, put in a second slot, add a grip so it looks like a big camera and you can add another battery, add in a joystick, and add $2000 to the price. Instant pro camera. :):)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

^ because it seems equivalent cameras are usually more expensive from Canon vs Sony - at least at launch price - but Sony’s don’t tend to get discounted as much or as quickly as Canon products do.

Curious if the new pro model will have the focus bracketing feature.

The eos rp has it , the eos r doesn’t.

Thanks
