Shallow Depth of Field is the theme of this challenge. Subject matter is up to you. Portraits, macros, close-ups, anything goes. I could not find this theme when I searched the previous Speed challenges so let's show 'em how to do it. :-P

The challenge begins when posted and will end on Monday, December 30, 2019 at midnight Mountain Standard Time. (But if you sneak in after the deadline before I close the challenge, I shall allow it.) The winner will be announced the next day.

CHALLENGE RULES:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, (not just DSLR).
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: See standard P.O.T.N. Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
6. Details: Show camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
7. Commenting: Please, NO COMMENTING DURING CHALLENGE. Feel free to comment in this thread after a winner is declared.
8. Content: Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
9. Have questions? PM me.
10. Have FUN!

* THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED! A new challenge should be posted ASAP after you have been declared the winner.

Wow, thank you to all the participants and your wonderful photos! I've had fun trying to decide the winner this week, so many great shots!

Eidelweiss, I like this monochrome shot with lovely lighting, shadows, and bokeh.

Jason C, wow how did you get this? I love it. The ball is wonderfully focused, and I really like that shadow on the side. Beautiful colors, too.

itsallart, Awwww! Superb focus on kitty's eye. Such a great profile shot.

Hye5, the sign tells the story, doesn't it? I like it.

mike_d, that is some shallow DOF! What is it? I'm thinking cantaloupe? It makes me think of a moon shot. Love the curve.

texkam, that's quite a scene. I like how just the one storm trooper is in focus. It allows the viewer to imagine hundreds more behind him.

Jerry-R, gorgeous shot! Love everything about it.

dilorenzo1954, this is just great! The B&W really works here. Love the focus on the fingernail. Excellent.

darkslinger, very nice close-up of craftmanship here. I'd love to see the rest of it!

OldCrow, the shallow DOF is perfect for this decoration. I like the Christmas bokeh.

Levina, this shot has everything. Reflection, shallow DOF, composition, and just a hint of color to keep it interesting.

And the winner this week is Jason C! Close runner up is dilorenzo1954. Honorable Mentions to everyone else! Thank you all again for taking time this week to play. :-)

Jason, congratulations! What's next?
