I was there years ago, to repaint grocery stores' checkout lanes.
We had a helluva time finding necessary lodgings.
The choices were filthy; we didn't stay more than one night
and we got outta there after the first night.

Most other local options were filthy; we sauntered into the next townships
for a respite from the filth.

When were you in Goshen???? I live in Elkhart just 8 miles northwest of Goshen.

I am sorry to hear this. I do hope it would be better now but since I do not need any lodgings in Goshen I really have no idea.

That reminds me of a pub (hotel) we booked into once when staying away from head office.
Weren't impressed when we got there, had our evening meal and further unimpressed.
Made up a cock and bull storey that we had to return home, packed up and stayed at next town.
Not sure what they thought as we turned up next day surveying the road through their town

Goshen! We've an old mining town of that name. It DOES NOT look like yours.
More like some of your wild west shots I've seen.
Beautiful old buildings you have there

Those pictures were taken back in 2014, when I was in Goshen for the funeral service for a cousin of mine.
I had an uncle and aunt who lived in Goshen from about 1948 until about 2005. Their son, whose funeral i went to,
was born and raised in Goshen and graduated from Goshen High School.

When I stayed with my uncle and aunt, for a couple of months before they moved, my aunt told me that Goshen
wasn't the town it had been when they moved there.

I lived in Fort Wayne until 1956. One thing I remember about Elkhart was the auto transport trucks that used to get
stuck in one of the highway underpasses.

Leroy School, Colorado. The town of Leroy no longer exists, but the old school building still stands alone on the prairie. The school was in use for 62 years, from 1888 to 1950.

Medieval houses in the old town of Malestoit in France.

That's a lovely part of France Kenny. We have had a couple of lovely holidays down there.

Your photo captures the spirit of those places and I have to admit that I do miss living in France sometimes, even although it was a long way further south.

As you say, France is more interesting the further south you go. Around our part of Normandy it is all WW2 and D Day. Our town of La Haye du Puits was destroyed in the fighting and subsequently rebuild.

no, unfortunately, it was private property, and we couldn't access it. Would love to have done some shots on the inside/
