Jul 14, 2020 10:27 | #1266 aezoss wrote in post #19091755 Thanks! It's a retrograde comet discovered in March by the NEOWISE space telescope. Naked eye, it's barely visible ~40km outside our city. It's detectable using averted vision (looking slightly right or left of the comet, not directly at it). Looks good in binoculars or a small telescope. Not sure how long it's going to remain bright. Read a report that it's starting to fade. https://earthsky.org …ee-comet-c2020-f3-neowise https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2020_F3_(NEOWISE) I read it's going to be mostly visible starting at sunset in the NW sky for a good 10 days 1.5-2 hours after sunset.

Jul 14, 2020 11:05 | #1268 I have been taking pretty much nothing but macro photographs for months now so decided to take a landscape photo on my lunchtime cycle ride. I have always struggled with landscape photography and always feel my landscape photos are lacking in something. I prob should have tried the same shot at sunrise or sunset to get better light. Maybe they're just afraid of what's in the dark!
