Half Dome Revisited by Mike Day, on FlickrAs I start to plan the adventures of 2020, I wanted to go back and re-edit an image of Half Dome in Yosemite NP from 2015. I shot this with my first Canon SLR the 60d.
I reworked the image in Lightroom and Silver EFX. I wanted to bring out the incredible textures in the granite wall. Back then composition wasn't as important as just being in the moment. As I look back on this one, I think I got lucky with the tall pine trees below and the wonderful cloud action that day around the dome. Ansel Adams is one of my favorite photographers for many reasons. First and foremost because of his love for Yosemite. I’ve read a few books about him and his love for the outdoors. Currently, Yosemite is my favorite National Park. What are yours?
I hoping to cross off Zion, Bryce, Yellowstone, and Glacier NP off the list this year. One of my favorite photographers, William McIntosh, said his favorite is Glacier NP so I’m really amped up about it.
