These are the famous "Cross Swords" in Baghdad. This was the main parade route that the military used to show off for Saddam. It is right next to their version of the Tomb of the unknown soldier. These were molded from Saddams actual hands and sword, but made much much bigger.....they stand about 15 stories high.

There is a lot of trash there now and was not a very attractive photo, so I doctored it up a little to try and make it look a little more pleasing. C&C welcome. I left the trash on purpose to give you a sense of the area.

Glad to see that wasn't ripped down. Even if it's a monument to/from a dictator it is part of that nations history. OOOOh I'm being political no insult intended.

It looks like an antique photograph, very nice PP. There seems to be a dark halo around the edges of the sword and the pics border though. Thanks for sharing, be safe over there man.

Yeah, I think the Halo is from adjusting the brightness and contrast to much in the original.

I love how you darkened the picture as Saddams time in Iraq was indeed, a very dark time for most Iraqi's.

This is a great shot!

Take care!!!

Great shot, love the effect that you did to it. Very dramatic
