I found it interesting that the fort remained in Union Army possession through out the war. I reckon the South just didn't think it would be worth the effort to capture it. Amazing what a mere 5000 pounds of black powder can do to a structure. Love your photos of the place. Thanks Terry. We also found it interesting that it was a Union Fort. We were vacationing in nearby Pensacola Beach, so I was able to visit the fort several times during our stay. Interesting place! John
