Hi,

I am looking for a (preferably free) photo sharing site which is more privacy oriented. The viewers should not be able to download or share the photos to others. They should be able to view the photos that I share with them.

Does any one know of a photo sharing site that has these features?

Thanks in advance,

Not possible I'm afraid - if folks can view the photos, one way or another they'll be able to share them.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

I use SmugMug. You can go into each gallery you have on the site and mark the gallery as Private, turn off features that allow downloads, turn on right click messages that prevent right click and copy, etc.... It's pretty good. If you want to share a private gallery, you share the link with your client, or whoever, and create a password for that gallery.

It's not free, but the Basic plan is only $48/year.

Hope this helps.

Flickr technically allows you to do this... you can create albums to share or even make photos private. No matter what you use, you won't be able to keep people from taking a screenshot of them

there is always a way around the precautions you take. There are utilities to enable you to use right click, even when you disable it. You can also view the page info in some browsers, click on the Media tab, and download any image on the page from there.

If they can view it, then can download it if they have any tech skills. Screen capture programs are advanced enough that there is no guarantee that your images won't be copied.

This can be done with Onedrive from Microsoft. As with other options mentioned by others, you can create private galleries, but you cannot prevent an authorized user from downloading the photos. The link to the gallery can be set to expire as well.

Best bet is to cover them in watermarks for viewing but leaving parts uncovered enough to see that they are sharp and clean images....when the client wants to purchase you can upload the clean images with only a single unobtrusive watermark.
